The Lutheran Family Health Centers’ Community Based Programs is hosting Ask the Medical Professionals events on January 8 and 22 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Coney Island Lighthouse Mission Church (2114 Mermaid Avenue). Attendees can ask Lutheran’s medical professionals health-related questions, get blood pressure screenings, have medications reviewed and receive nutrition tips.
This is a free event and is open to the general public.

We should always strive to be better, so take *Probiotics as it will always be beneficial. Theralac is my Probiotic of Choice & My Pediatrician Recommended as well. *Note: Take Specific Probiotics if you know you are allergic to any active cultures. If you are not aware of any, but you want to find out, I would recommend the Process of Elimination.

Paleo Diet
Our Nutritionist tells us that I should only eat things that are "Hunted & Gathered, so the Paleo Diet was highly recommended. Because I have Candida, I can't eat sugar as it would essentially "Feed the Beast," but it's so so hard to do, and I can't say that it hasn't been difficult. We have begun to use "Charcoal" as a more holistic approach rather than your average gut focused "Nystatin" Medication. Fluconazole a different alternative is also available, but some may tolerate it better than others.

Foodtown Supermarket - Their 2nd Floor opened on 2014 is a Health/Enviormentially conscious Bayridgidians Dream. They have everything that you could possibly want, and the Katz family runs a great business with John & John Jr. by their side. I do appreciate the Handwritten Christmas Card I got, and it is nice that they always acknowledge their customers. They do let you know that your business is appreciated. Very Sweet.

Appletree Natural Market is a small Natural Product Store in Bay Ridge that has everything from Vitamins to Health Foods. They carry many Gluten Free, Dairy Free, and Vegan Consumer Products, and It's a great place to stop in to go grab a few things you need. They carry a Monthly Circular, and the Business Owners are extremely helpful. Sometimes larger places can be very overwhelming, so its good to start small when you start a diet you don't know, and are unfamiliar with.
If you have Nutrition Defiency Issues, ask your doctor about Medical Food Shakes. It is a good way to provide you with much needed Healthy Nutrition, and it is so easy to make. Great product to try out as it also reduces inflamation in the Gut. We could all benefit from some of it, so give it a shot. You won't be dissapointed.

Dr. John Kehoe is a Memorial Sloan Kettering trained Breast Cancer Surgeon and surgical oncologist located near Brooklyn, Bay Ridge.
Dr. Kehoe founded and developed a private, full service, and free standing Breast Cancer Diagnosis Treatment Center right off the Cusp of Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights [located near the Dyker Heights Golf Course]over twenty years ago, and he has an outstanding practice.
Imagine a "One Stop Shop" for Breast Health, and that's what you shall recieve. I love that we don't always have to travel to the City to recieve the same level of treatment that we would get if we did go to a "Sloan" like location.
Bay Ridge has many doctors who have brought their practices here who have worked @ Columbia, Sloan, John Hopkins, and other reputable Hospitals in the New York City Area. It's nice to have a place more easily available, and I do recommend that you make an appoitment to see Dr. John Kehoe if you are interested in Breast Health in the Bay Ridge Area. - His availably is limited, so be proactive if you do want to make an appointment to see him. Def Worth it. Duchess Recommended & Approved. [wink]

At our Cental Shopping Area in Bay Ridge [86th Street], there is a Vitamin Shoppe Store. If you are new to "trying" to implement supplements into your diet, I would start out by going there.
The employees are very well Knowledgeable on Nutrition, and you have much more different Options to choose from. There are great products there, and it's a good way to ease your way into a better Nutritional Lifestyle.
Please be aware that Supplements are drugs that have not been FDA Approved, and you should always consult with your Health Care Provider, and provide them with a list of these supplements to see if they interact with your FDA Approved Medications if you take any. Also be aware of the fact that not every physician takes the time to do it, so be proactive with your health. It's always best to do your own research.
Please be advised that I am NOT a Certfied Nutritionist, and any advice I give to you are from my own personal experiences, and what I have learned from my Nutritionists throughout the years.
